Like many other Fashion Students I live and breathe it, I could spend hours at a time looking at new collections and designers and being inspired by every single aspect. Fashion Week is something to always look forward to, especially Paris Couture Week. After taking a look at this years collections I have highlighted some of my favourites. All my photographs were sourced from the Vogue website, it’s my favourite source for all the new runway collections and photographs.
Guo Pei – Spring/Summer 2016 Couture – Take a look at the full collection here
This collection is ice cream pastel tones meets housewives and I am obsessed, the colours are so subtly stunning and the gold detailing on the garments really brings them to life. Every time I look it gets better, from the ballerina style lace up shoes, to the statement earrings and the masses of organza pleats.
Elie Saab – Spring/Summer 2016 Couture – Take a look at the full collection here
Elie Saab collections always leave me stunned but this combination of lace, mesh and crochet is breathtaking. Inspired by Middle Eastern Princesses with a Victorian feel this season is better than ever before. The subtle colour spectrum shades changing from white to grey to blue make it look so effortless yet the garment details say otherwise.
Ralph & Russo – Spring/Summer 2016 Couture – Take a look at the full collection here
The mixture of textures and exaggerated shapes it so beautiful, again the colours are really captivating and the entire collection had a very bridal look to it. I loved the use of the different fabrics and how well they complimented each other and the slicked back models hair to really give the focus on the garments.
Zuhair Murad – Spring/Summer 2016 Couture – Take a look at the full collection here
It was so hard to choose between the floral detailed gowns, every piece was so beautiful and unique, this collection is one of my new favourites of all time. I loved the change the the colour scheme throughout the show and differences of style with every single dress, nothing was too similar which I loved.
Giorgio Armani Prive – Spring/Summer 2016 Couture – Take a look at the full collection here
This collection is so dreamy, I love the printing on the lightweight organza and the shades of lilacs and purples. I can imagine how the pieces floated and moved down the catwalk and the incredible shapes they will have created. I loved the way the models were styled, from the slick black wigs to the simplistic makeup.
