I’m back again with my Fashion Week update! Milan has given me some serious colour inspiration, yellows and greens seem to be huge and these collections left me gagging. I’ve found some brand new designers that have completely stolen my heart and I was so content when choosing my favourite looks! Here are my top 6 from Milan with another post up tomorrow putting my favourite collection in the spotlight – All photographs are sourced from the Vogue website.
Vivetta – Spring/Summer 2018 – Ready To Wear – Take a look at the full collection here
I have completely fallen for this Vivetta collection! I loved the shapes, colours and fabrics used and it really brightened up the runway – very important for a Spring/Summer collection. My favourite features are the hoods with the oversized ribbon neck ties, a mixture of twee and sophisticated style all in one! The opal shine knee length boots really brought in the colour palette with each look and I love how the layered garments blended straight into the boots.
Dolce and Gabbana – Spring/Summer 2018 – Ready To Wear – Take a look at the full collection here
Dolce and Gabbana always leave me with so much choice for my favourite looks, their collections always feature a number of different themes that all work together down the runway. This collection has the definite D&G look with the deep blacks and reds, embellishment and floral details. I loved the playing card outfits, the extreme prints all over really brought the looks to life and I loved the mixture of colours used.
Versace – Spring/Summer 2018 – Ready To Wear – Take a look at the full collection here
Versace pulled it out the bag with this collection, they recycled some of the most famous Versace prints and re-vamped them. The show even closed with the original supermodels at the end of the catwalk which sent social media into complete meltdown. I selected three of my favourite prints to feature, I loved the masculine boxy silhouettes used throughout this range and the strong colour options.
Antonio Marras – Spring/Summer 2018 – Ready To Wear – Take a look at the full collection here
This collection has given me some serious Great Gatsby / 1920s vibes and I’m in complete awe of it. The pinned updos, gloves and oversized earrings were a perfect styling choice to go with the range of looks on the runway. The fabric choices and sheer overlays gave serious movability to the garments as they floated down the catwalk. This collection has definitely made me want to look at Antonio Marras’ previous work, he’s gone in a completely different direction to every designer and it’s really worked out.
Krizia – Spring/Summer 2018 – Ready To Wear – Take a look at the full collection here
I’ve never featured a Krizia collection before but this one really stood out to me. The mixture of bold pops of colour and animal prints were stunning on the runway and really brightened everything up. The collection was super sleek, I loved the single block colour suits with the sultry slicked back hair. I’m excited to see what Krizia creates in the future.
Marni – Spring/Summer 2018 – Ready To Wear – Take a look at the full collection here
I love the uniqueness of this collection and it really stood out to me so of course it was going to be one of my favourites from Milan! These unusual silhouettes had me speechless, they kind of look inflatable which is such a crazy design element. The collection still had the Marni edge with the soft embellishments that I always fall in love with.
