Are you ready for a brand new bath time experience? With the popularity of my Lush Jelly Face Masks Review I knew that the Jelly Bombs would be a fantastic range to try out and share with my readers! I originally was intending to post this in September but I held off posting when I found out that Lush would be bringing out two limited edition Jelly Bombs for Halloween and Christmas – so this is just in time to get everyone excited for the two that launch this Friday in ALL UK Lush stores! All six of the Jelly Bombs are Vegan so they’re a perfect little treat for everyone to try. The original four Jelly Bombs launched online and in about 10 bigger Lush stores around the UK in August this year. Since then they have completely blown up social media and one of them has even had a name change due to legal reasons, oh the scandal!
So how do they actually work? They don’t turn your entire bath water into jelly like you would expect, instead they leave a layer of jelly on the surface of your bath that does disintegrate after about 20 minutes. The jelly is made from Sodium Alginate, an ingredient that comes from mineral-rich seaweed so the products are both fun and incredibly hydrating and softening on the skin! Like all bath bombs the best way to clean out your bath after use is just a quick rinse with cold water from your shower head once you have drained your bath. From my personal experiences with the Jelly Bombs I found that certain products produced a lot more jelly than others but each one of them left my skin feeling incredible.
THE BIG SLEEP – £4.95 – AVAILABLE ONLINE AND IN SELECTED UK STORES
If a good nights sleep is needed then The Big Sleep is prepared to help, it’s full of fragrance with lavender and chamomile inside to aid a restful nights sleep. If you’re a fan of Sleepy Body Lotion or the Twilight Bath Bomb this is a fantastic option to try. This was one of my favourites in my bath at home as it made me feel so relaxed and at ease, I really want to stock up on this one in particular! Main ingredients include Lavender Oil, Neroli Oil and Tonka Absolute.
ECTOPLASM – £4.95 – HALLOWEEN EXCLUSIVE AND AVAILABLE IN ALL UK STORES
Looking for some spooky, slimey vibes? Ectoplasm is arriving on the 6th of October for some Halloween fun with a deep tangerine fragrance. It fills your water with neon yellows, oranges and purples creating an Instagram worthy bath and exciting experience. I was lucky enough to get really hands on with this at the Lush Creative Showcase as I had the pleasure to work on the Halloween section and I can’t wait to have it in store! Main ingredients include Tangerine Oil, Grapefruit Oil and Litsea Cubeba Oil.
MARMALADE – £4.95 – AVAILABLE ONLINE AND IN SELECTED UK STORES
If you’re wanting something extremely uplifting and fun then Marmalade is the perfect choice! With real pieces of oranges inside and a citrusy fragrance this is bound to pack a punch and is a fantastic option if you’re feeling the winter blues. I found that Marmalade created the most jelly from all of the Jelly Bombs, you can visually see from the photographs the thickness of jelly created from just a small bowl of water! Main ingredients include Brazilian Orange Oil, Grapefruit Oil and Orange Flower Absolute.
GREEN COCONUT – £4.95 – AVAILABLE ONLINE AND IN SELECTED UK STORES
This Jelly Bomb is filled with Coconut Cream to soften the water and the Cinnamon to stimulate the skin and give it a glow. Honestly this was my least favourite from the Jelly Bomb range, I didn’t get on with the fragrance and couldn’t actually stay in the bath with it. Although it didn’t appeal to me I have found some people that really love it so it’s still worth a try if you like the fragrance! I did love the colour of this in the water, a really deep green with hints of blues filling the bath for a visual experience. Main ingredients include Sodium Alginate, Coconut Cream and Cinnamon Leaf Oil.
SNOW FAIRY – £4.95 – CHRISTMAS EXCLUSIVE AND AVAILABLE IN ALL UK STORES
Everyone’s favourite Christmas fragrance is back once again and this year Snow Fairy has been turned into a Jelly Bomb. This is going to be so popular in stores due to its scent alone and it wouldn’t be Snow Fairy without a little bit of sparkle, the shimmer in this one looks almost holographic and is stunning to look at in the water! I would say that Snow Fairy is definitely a more of a relaxing choice with a very sweet and comforting fragrance, it created the lightest layer of jelly from all that I tried but you can still really feel the difference of the water and moisturising qualities. Main ingredients include Sodium Alginate, Cream of Tartar and Synthetic Musk.
SECRET ARTS – £4.95 – AVAILABLE ONLINE AND IN SELECTED UK STORES
Saving the best until last, Secret Arts is my all time favourite of all of the range! For so long we’ve had people asking for a black Bath Bomb and this does not disappoint, not only is it a deep black but it’s glittery too! With a spicey and orange fragrance it’s another fab choice for a night time soak after a day in the freezing cold and rain and it’s warming fragrance leaves you feeling relaxed. Unsurprisingly it is the most photographed Jelly Bomb on Instagram. Who wouldn’t want to take a photo of a black slimey bath? Main ingredients include Almond essential oil, Brazilian Orange Oil and Cinnamon Leaf Oil.
Liking what you see? Why not try one for yourself! All of the Jelly bombs are available on the UK Lush website and in particular stores. Treat yourself or someone else to something fun, you will not regret it!
